Sound with Vision (SOlVe)
A multi-sensory creative practice using DJing, sound, colour, light, poetry and narrative psychology to support healing, self-expression, self-awareness and performance confidence.
Sound with Vision builds on the current SOlVe approach of using theatre arts, poetry, prose and multimedia performance to help participants explore emotions, address unresolved feelings, build self-esteem, raise self-awareness, improve social skills and simultaneously develop performance skills.
What SOlVe opens up
- Creative pathways for emotional release, reflection and renewal.
- Practical tools for confidence, communication and embodied self-expression.
- A gentle but powerful way to connect sound, story, image, memory and meaning.
- Space to develop both personal insight and performance presence.
A healing and expressive journey through sound, story and sensation
Sound with Vision (SOlVe) is an Art Medicine practice that brings together sensory, creative and psychologically informed methods to help people work with what they feel, what they carry and how they express themselves. It supports emotional exploration, self-efficacy, personal growth and creative confidence through guided engagement with sound, language, movement, rhythm, colour, light and narrative.
Rather than offering a single workshop technique, SOlVe creates a layered experience. Participants can listen, mix, speak, write, reflect, perform, imagine and reframe. This makes it suitable for people who want healing, expression, confidence-building, performance development or a deeper relationship with their own inner voice.
For people seeking expression, confidence and emotional clarity
SOlVe can support individuals, groups, communities and creatives who want to explore emotion, release what has been held, find language for experience, and strengthen their sense of self. It can be adapted for reflective wellbeing spaces, performance development, community healing, empowerment work and creative learning environments.
Six pathways within the SOlVe method
Each strand offers a different doorway into healing and creative transformation. Together they create a rich, multi-sensory practice that can be adapted to the needs, pace and voice of each participant or group.
DJ
DJing introduces rhythm, tempo, sequencing and selection as a form of self-expression. It allows participants to explore identity, mood and emotional movement through mixing, choosing and shaping sound.
- Builds confidence, presence and creative control.
- Encourages play, rhythm awareness and sonic storytelling.
- Creates a powerful outlet for energy, release and performance.
Sound Therapy
Sound therapy works with vibration, resonance, tone and listening to support regulation, calm, release and inner attunement. It invites the body and nervous system to settle, soften and respond.
- Supports grounding, relaxation and emotional regulation.
- Creates space for listening inward as well as outward.
- Helps participants notice how sound affects feeling and memory.
Colour Therapy
Colour becomes a reflective and expressive language within the process. It can be used to explore emotion, symbolism, personal states, energetic shifts and creative imagination.
- Offers non-verbal ways to explore internal experience.
- Supports mood mapping, intuition and self-recognition.
- Deepens visual identity and sensory storytelling.
Light Therapy
Light is used atmospherically and symbolically to shape how a space feels and how a story is held. It can create activation, softness, focus, revelation and transformation.
- Transforms environment and emotional tone.
- Supports presence, attention and sensory immersion.
- Works beautifully with performance, reflection and visual healing spaces.
Poetry Therapy
Poetry therapy offers language for what is felt but not always easily spoken. Through image, rhythm, truth-telling and metaphor, participants can release emotion, find meaning and articulate experience.
- Supports catharsis, voice and emotional clarity.
- Encourages reflection, creativity and personal truth.
- Connects healing with beauty, craft and self-expression.
Narrative Psychology
Narrative psychology helps people notice the stories they have inherited, repeated or survived, and begin to reshape those stories with greater awareness, agency and compassion.
- Supports reframing, insight and identity development.
- Links personal history with meaning-making and change.
- Helps participants move from survival story to authored voice.
DJ services for events, workshops and creative experiences
